Behind the Stitches #1

Welcome to our first official weekend update! 🎉 Or as we’re calling it, Behind the Stitches —because why not add a little pizzazz to your weekend knitting inspiration, right? Grab your favorite fall drink (yes, I’m talking to you with the pumpkin spice everything) and let’s dive into the cozy goodness we’ve been up to this week. Spoiler alert: Nacho’s in it for the snacks, not the fame.

First up on the blog, we had a little yarn-obsession intervention. Yarn storage—it’s a topic near and dear to my heart because, let’s face it, yarn can take over your life. It’s like tribbles, multiplying in the night. I swear it grows legs and migrates under beds. So, we’ve got tips to keep it all organized in a way that says, “Yes, I am an adult with yarn discipline,” but really means, “I just found a cute basket on sale.” You’re welcome.

Now that your stash is (theoretically) under control, it’s time to dive into stash knitting. You know, all those skeins you’ve lovingly hoarded for that perfect project? Yeah, time to use them! I promise, it’s fun once you get started, and we’ve got all the tips to turn that stash into something fabulous instead of… well-intentioned clutter.

Then there’s the knitting tools post, which might be my personal favorite this week. Because who doesn’t love notions? From stitch markers that are way too cute for their own good, to tape measures that disappear like socks in a dryer, we’ve covered the must-haves and the “how did I live without this?” tools. Seriously, knitting tools are the office supplies of the yarn world, and I could talk about them forever. But I won’t. This time.

Oh, and you know we couldn’t leave you hanging without the ultimate guide to measuring your dog for their sweater. I mean, how else will Nacho get his next runway-ready outfit? He’s already practicing his poses in front of the mirror…though let’s be real, he’s only doing it because he knows treats are involved. Modeling is hard, but being bribed with snacks? That’s his true calling. We love a dramatic dog in a cute sweater.

Now, let’s talk holidays. Yes, I know, it’s fall, and we’re all basking in the glow of autumn leaves, chunky scarves, and hot drinks with unnecessarily long names. Now’s the perfect time to start plotting your holiday knitting—whether that’s for gifting or decking your dog out in festive knits. We’ll keep your needles busy and your holiday stress low. At least on the knitting front… I can’t promise anything about Aunt Judy’s fruitcake.
