About the designer
Designed by a real maker who knows that dogs deserve to be part of the project pile.
For a very long time, I was strictly a sock knitter. Possibly a century. Time gets fuzzy when you measure it in rows.
Then I finally made myself a sweater, and my immediate thought was not, “What an accomplishment!” It was, “Nacho needs one too.” I cast on a miniature version, adapting the pattern to fit his tiny, oddly proportioned dog body. It was the first time I had ever transformed a pattern that way, and I was instantly hooked.
Once Nacho and I started appearing on walks in our matching knits, people noticed. There were smiles, questions, compliments and, presumably, a little envy from dogs whose humans had failed to provide them with custom knitwear.
One sweater became another, then another, and eventually those experiments grew into an entire collection of dog sweaters, matching accessories and patterns for other knitters who understand that the only thing better than making something beautiful is making a tiny coordinating version for your dog.
